Drum of the Nautilus – The deep-sea automata powerhouse – Salvaged by the crew of the HMS Nautilus from a drifting Enlightened vessel, this massive automaton was discovered inside a crate marked “Aberrant Technology.” Originally built for mechanised labour, it soon became the focus of Erasmus Darwin’s experiments, who restored and adapted the machine for deep-sea exploration where no human could safely operate. After weeks of careful tinkering, the automata returned to full functionality, displaying unexpected signs of awareness and personality. Its barrel-shaped armour earned it the nickname “Drum,” a name that quickly stuck among the crew.
