With the ascension of Joffrey Baratheon to the Iron Throne, House Lannister dominates King's Landing from behind the scenes. Ambitious as well as wealthy, House Lannister is seeking to establish its legitimacy on the throne. Queen Cersei and Tommen exert their influence in the arcanes of power, while Jaime, despite his captivity, still works for the Lannisters' interests. For his part, Ser Kevan Lannister is working to fulfil his niece's ambitions. Meanwhile, the House's allies, such as Gregor Clegane, the Horse Mountain, Ser Addam Marpheux, Qyburn and Ser Robert Fort, are working to maintain Lannister control of the Iron Throne.
