Mascareri (English)

Mask making is a long-standing tradition in Venice, worn proudly throughout the Carnevale festival. Since the opening of the Rent in the Sky, the city has become even more secretive, with citizens wearing masks at all hours of the day. These masks have become a symbol of Venice as iconic as the Lion of Saint Mark, and thanks to the Mascareri who craft them, the city has earned a new name: the City of Secrets.
