Snipers were feared across every battlefield, and the Germans used them with deadly precision in the defence of Tunisia. The rocky terrain of North Africa's mountains was far removed from the open sands of the Western Desert, making it ideal for ambush tactics. The lightweight Panzerbüchse 41 anti-tank gun also proved effective in this environment, using a unique squeezebore design to fire high-velocity tungsten rounds. Though its power dropped at longer ranges, it remained lethal up close.
